PE-EE and FE Review Seminars
The Professional Engineering (PE) and Fundamentals Engineering (FE) Exam Review Seminars is an ongoing program between the Florida Engineering Society (FES) - Pinellas Chapter and the University of South Florida (USF) Florida Engineering Education Delivery System (FEEDS) Program. The FE and the Electrical Engineering PE reviews are held twice a year. The seminars are coordinated by a Progress Energy employee who is also a member of the FES. All proceeds form the seminars go to local engineering oriented youth programs.
The live classes meet one night a week for eleven
weeks (FE Review), starting Monday July 25th, 2005 and thirteen
weeks (PE EE Review) starting Thursday July 21st, 2005. The seminars
are designed to refresh you on concepts and problem solving. FES has a
partnership with the University of South Florida which allows the classes to be
offered via the internet. You need only a computer that has video streaming
capability. All students are given access to view a class live or from weeks back via the internet.
Each class will be available via web until the day before the exam - any time of day or night for video streaming, for multiple viewings if necessary. Instructors will be available to all students via e-mail for questions or additional coaching. The registration fee will be $335.00, books not included.
We have a high pass rate for engineers that take our seminars. Our pass rate is 80%, which is higher than the National Average of 66%. Something we are proud of. However, there are no guarantees. The class time gives you a strong start. From there you need to spend nights and weekends solving problems and working further on "rusty" concepts. Those that try to absorb knowledge during the class, then do nothing in between are typically the ones that almost pass. Those that make a conscientious effort usually report back the exam was thorough but fair and receive passing scores. It's far better to apply yourself and pass than to "almost pass" and have to go through the process again.
Sample problems are solved in class to illustrate concepts. The Review Manual includes more problems similar to those you should expect on the exam. In many cases, the same problems have appeared on the previous exams - sometimes the values are changed to make things interesting.
Below please find a copy of the registration information. I look forward to your registration. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
