MATHCOUNTS
MATHCOUNTS is a nation-wide mathematics competition for seventh- and eigth-graders, similar in format to a "spelling bee."  Please check the excellent information available at the MATHCOUNTS or FES web pages.
 

17 February 2000 Update

Following are results from the regional competition on Sat., 5 Feb 2000: 

Surfside Middle School took top team honors, followed by Mowat Middle School, Rosenwald Middle School, and Panama City Advanced School.  Mowat placed first in the Ciphering Round.  The top individual was Jennifer Hurley (Surfside), followed by Brelan Moritz (Mowat), James Melsha (Sufside), and Brian Robeson (Mowat).  These top two teams and top four individuals will compete at the state MATHCOUNTS competition 24-25 March 2000 in Orlando, Florida.
